Natalie is a registered clinical psychologist. She has worked with people who have emotional health concerns for 23 years and completed her doctorate in clinical psychology in 2004. Natalie specialises in diagnosis, assessment and therapy for:
- maternal depression and anxiety
- low self-esteem
- relationship issues
Experience enables Natalie to take an integrated approach, meaning she draws on a number of therapy models to suit individual clients and their needs (such as CBT, ERP, ACT and mindfulness).
Research is a passion for Natalie who:
- Held a Bright Future Top Achiever Doctoral Scholarship for her research in neuropsychology (understanding how the brain relates to behaviour).
- Was lead research psychologist for the Auckland Eating Disorders team.
- Has written a bestselling book, Smart Mothering, which examines the research behind mothering choices.
